Monique Arsenault Scholarship Program

(11/14/71 – 5/28/20)

Monique Arsenault was an inspirational member of WAHA (now PNWHA).  Her father and several other friends and admirers wanted her legacy to live on and started a yearly scholarship in her name.  Each year, $1000 shall go to a person who shares her values.

Monique served on the WAHA Board for 8 years.  She loved homeopathy and gave a lot of time and energy to promote it.  She helped organize every event the WAHA board hosted for 8 years, even when her own health was failing. She would call homeopathic pharmacies to enlist their support for our association and organize raffles of their products to boost excitement at our events.  If people did not renew their membership, Monique would call them personally to remind them to stay with us.  Her love of homeopathy proved to be a magnet to others. But her signature gift as a healer was helping people to “be themselves” by being a compassionate, calm, and warm presence to all who entered her sphere.

It was very important to Monique that WAHA support and help individual homeopaths to have a thriving practice and to be visible.  Even though her practice was small, she insisted on renting a space in a downtown office building in Bellingham to make sure HOMEOPATHY was visible and out in the open!  To honor her and assist PNW homeopaths in establishing and improving their practices a scholarship of $1,000.00 will be awarded yearly to an eligible PNWHA member.  Since she loved “community spirit,” you must be a member to win!

Eligibility:  Those PNWHA members who have demonstrated a deep love of homeopathy through their own practice, teaching or demonstrated a commitment to promote the profession will be given primary consideration.

Candidates for the scholarship can apply for themselves or nominate someone else they believe to be deserving of the recognition.

Application: Submit a letter (up to 1000 words) describing your engagement with homeopathy (practicing, studying, teaching, promoting) and what you’d like to accomplish.  How would this scholarship help you meet your goals?  Please include what is alive for you in your practice and evolution as a homeopath.  The deadline for submitting an application for 2024 is TBD.  Please send your application letter to contact@pnwha.org

Nomination: Submit a letter (up to 1000 words) nominating a fellow member of PNWHA who you believe should receive the scholarship. The letter should give your reasons for nominating the member, the history of your personal or professional relationship with the nominee and your sense of how the nominee would use the scholarship. Please send your nomination to contact@pnwha.org

Selection:   The selection committee, designated by the PNWHA Board, will review applications and select the recipient. The winner of the scholarship will be announced at our Fall Event, which is close to Monique’s birthday, November 14.

Each year the previous year’s recipient will be invited to participate in the next year’s scholarship designation.
